“Engines on line,” Sam started to say, “giving her one quarter power.” He gripped a control stick with his left hand and the ship began to vibrate. Flames flickered from under the ship and then exploded with life. “Bringing up aft thrusters. One eighth full.”

The ship jerked forward as the vessel creeped out of the air-locked hanger. The cargo ship slowly started to accelerate.

“Increasing power to one quarter.” Sam tapped a few buttons on the control bar. The ship's vibration evolved into a full on quake.

The captain opened the ships coms to the engine compartment. “How are we doing down there?”

“Just hiccups. Fully functioning engines at twenty five percent,” the female voice over powered the rumbling of the ship.
